International students thinking about applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate course will be automatically considered for a La Trobe High Achiever Scholarship.

La Trobe University values academic excellence. High-achieving International students thinking about applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate course will be automatically considered for this scholarship.

The La Trobe High Achiever Scholarship is worth between 15% to 25% off the annual tuition fees for the duration of studies. Recipients are required to meet all conditions (if applicable) outlined in the Letter of Offer and accept the offer by paying the required deposit before the scholarship can be applied.

*A WAM is an average mark that takes into account the credit point value of the subjects that you have completed. It is based on the actual mark of all subjects completed in your course at any given time.

La Trobe’s Juris Doctor provides the academic requirements you need to apply for admission to practice law in Victoria. The course also gives you the necessary foundations to practice law internationally.

Duration: 3 years
Application deadline: International applicants are assessed on a rolling-admissions basis. The earlier your application is submitted the better.
Admissions requirements: You must have a completed undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 2.7/4.0 (approximately 70%). A grade point average (GPA) above 3.0/4.0 (73% – 76%) will receive an automatic offer. Candidates must also submit a personal statement. The LSAT is not required for admission.

Bachelor of Laws (Honours)
In La Trobe’s Bachelor of Laws (Honours), you’ll develop the knowledge and expertise to establish yourself as a forward-thinking legal professional. You’ll combine outstanding intellectual and skills-based legal training with a progressive approach to law, preparing you for a rewarding career.

Put your knowledge into practice with opportunities for real-world placement experiences—from working in environments including community legal centres, law firms and government agencies to building mentor relationships with judges, magistrates, and coroners.

You may also study your Bachelor of Laws (Honours) as a double degree and add a new discipline to your expertise such as arts, criminology, commerce, science, psychological science, global studies, or media and communications.

Duration: 4 years
Application deadline: International applicants are assessed on a rolling-admissions basis. The earlier your application is submitted the better.
Admissions requirements: Completed high school diploma with a minimum GPA of 90% and Grade 12 English.
