Overview
Ranked #16 in the world for law (2022 QS World Rankings by Subject), Sydney Law School is Australia’s first. As one of the world’s leading law schools, University of Sydney law students learn from globally recognized legal educators and highly respected professional practitioners.
Purpose-built facilities
Sydney’s instantly recognizably building on the Camperdown Campus is just 10 minutes from the centre of the city. It offers superior teaching facilities and a dedicated moot court, along with mediation and library facilities that are among the best in the world.
Sydney also has teaching spaces in Castlereagh Street in the city for postgraduate studies in law. These facilities include four teaching rooms, meeting rooms, a lounge for networking and other events, and flexible learning spaces for students.
Sydney University Law Society
The Sydney University Law Society is engaged and actively involved with the university and broader community. As a student at Sydney Law School you’ll automatically be part of the Sydney University Law Society (SULS), one of the most active student-led organizations at the university.
SULS provides the law school community with a variety events, activities and programs, including social events, educational support, mooting and skills competitions, careers events, sporting functions, and initiatives that inspire students to use the law as an instrument for social change.
As a Sydney Law School student, you’ll automatically be part of SULS, giving you the opportunity to make lifelong friends and develop a strong professional network.
Program
The Combined Law program at the University of Sydney Law School will allow you to study the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in conjunction with another degree. It works by spreading out the first part of the Sydney LLB over three years of a partner degree in arts, commerce, economics, engineering or science.
- Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Laws
- Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Laws
- Bachelor of Economics / Bachelor of Laws
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) / Bachelor of Laws
- Bachelor of Science / Bachelor of Laws
All combinations are five years with the exception of Engineering/Law which is six years.
In the first three years (or four years for engineering) you’ll enroll with other faculties and then transfer to the Law School at the completion of your other degree to finish the last 2 years of your law studies. In addition to law core units of study, you’ll have access to a broad range of electives from areas such as contracts, constitutional law, criminal law, corporate law, health law, environmental law, media law, and international law.
