Australia takes home the most top 10 spots for the World’s Most Livable Cities in 2026!
One more reason to consider studying Down Under… Australia has once again topped the charts of the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) 2026 Global Liveability Index!
Each year the EIU surveys citizens in 173 cities around the world about how livable their city is based on 30 qualitative and quantitative factors in five general categories: education, healthcare, culture and environment, infrastructure, and stability. The end result is a list of the world’s cities that have the best living conditions.
Australia continued to lead the way, taking home the most spots in the top 10 lineup. Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide even moved up from their existing top 10 spots in 2025.
