Overview

The Master of Public Health at Griffith University is a multi-disciplinary program that provides the knowledge and skills to work in a wide range of public health professions. It focuses on the systems and practices that shape the health of nations, communities and individuals and the environments in which they live, work and take their leisure.

As a Griffith public health student, you will investigate issues that help determine quality of life, such as globalization, technology, environmental degradation and population trends, lifestyle and nutrition, control of existing and emerging communicable diseases, workplace health, and food and drug safety.

Program

Public health professionals play a critical role in improving population well-being, shaping health policy, and responding to complex global health challenges. Griffith’s Master of Public Health equips you with the knowledge, analytical skills, and practical capabilities to design, deliver, and evaluate public health programs that make a real-world impact.

You’ll learn how social conditions, environments, and systems shape health—and how to apply this understanding to reduce inequities, prevent disease, and improve health outcomes across complex and varied community and policy contexts.

Admission Requirements

Completed bachelor’s degree
You must have a suitable bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0/4.0. Related fields include public health, health services management, environmental health, allied health, medicine, nursing, psychology, clinical, research biomedical health and social science.

Those with a suitable postgraduate qualification (master’s, graduate certificate, or graduate diploma) in a related field may be eligible for up to 40 credit points of credit and may be able to complete the program in 1 year. Please contact OzTREKK for more information.
