Student Profiles: Melbourne Dental School
Meet former OzTREKK student Deepak, who’s currently in his fourth year at Melbourne Dental School.

“For any students who are interested in studying dentistry,” Deepak says, “I would say try and contact your local dentist and learn a bit about the profession, and maybe even spend some time observing. Make sure to take courses you enjoy and will excel in, as well as all the prerequisite courses. It is a long journey but worth every step.”
When asked what his plans were, Deepak admits he is committed to working hard toward his DDS—both clinically and academically.
“I also want to stay busy connecting with my family and friends (virtually) during this COVID period and continuing my old and new hobbies,” he says.
University of Melbourne Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS)
With state-of-the-art technologies, the University of Melbourne Dental School DDS program uses new infrastructure, including a 100-seat pre-clinical laboratory and the new Melbourne University Dental Clinic, for advanced clinical teaching. The program places emphasis on pre-clinical practical classes and clinical patient treatments in all specialties of dentistry and teaches you to prepare, develop, execute and write a small research project for publication.
