What’s the transition to living in Australia been like?
“My time on the Gold Coast has been amazing. Moving [from] Canada to here was really easy because of the amazing people, the laid-back culture, and the year-round warm weather.”

“I chose Bond’s Bachelor of Laws program over other universities because of the high student satisfaction rate here at Bond University. I also chose it because of their small class sizes which make it easy to connect to the professors who are teaching here and easier to hone those skills that we’re learning to further our legal career.”

“Bond caters to Canadian law students by offering Canadian law courses as electives, which makes a big difference when going back to Canada, so we can have the material already done here at Bond so when we do our exams back home it’s just a review rather than having to learn all that material fresh.”
Canadian law courses at Bond University include Foundations of Canadian Law, Canadian Criminal Law and Procedure, Canadian Constitutional Law, Canadian Administrative Law, and Canadian Professional Responsibility. All five courses are taught according to the NCA syllabus and taught by Canadian professors!
What teaching methods are used in Bond University law school?
“Bond law offers a lot of opportunities to gain hands-on experience. We do legal memorandums, client interviews, sentencing hearings, negotiations, moot assessments. So all these different things help us to gain real-world applicable skills and it goes a long way in our journeys here at Bond.
Connecting with professors who have real-world experience all over the world has been really easy and really fruitful here at Bond.”
The Bond Law Clinic is just one example of the hands-on learning opportunities offer to law students. This clinic allows students to gain practical legal experience within a firm under the guidance of experienced lawyers who provide the legal advice service.
What clubs and activities does Bond offer for when you’re not in the classroom?
“Here at Bond there are over 100 clubs and societies to join. There’s cultural clubs, faith-based clubs, educational clubs, and sports-based clubs.”

What do you plan to do after you graduate from Bond law school?
“So my career goal firstly is to finish law school here in Australia at Bond. After that, I have the flexibility because of the Bond degree to either go back to Canada or to stay here in Australia.”
