UQ Master of International Commercial Law

The Master of International Commercial Law at the University of Queensland is designed specifically for graduates of any discipline who have relevant work experience related to the courses offered in the program. This is likely to include those working in banking and financial institutions, in a wide variety of commercial enterprises and also lawyers. The program includes three key courses aimed at increasing existing knowledge and understanding of foundational legal concepts and also aimed at enhancing analytical (legal) reasoning and writing skills.

UQ Master of International Commercial Law

Program: Master of International Commercial Law
Location: Townsville, Queensland
Semester intake: February and July
Duration: 1 year
Application deadline: November 15, 2014 for the February 2015 intake; and May 15, 2015 for the July 2015 intake.
Entry Requirements
To enrol in the program, a student must hold

  • (a) an approved honours degree or masters degree in the same discipline with a GPA of at least 4.5 and at least one year of full-time (or equivalent) professional work experience relevant to the courses offered in the program, as approved by the executive dean; or
  • (b) an approved honours degree in a different discipline with a GPA of at least 4.5 and have completed at least three years of full-time (or equivalent) professional work experience relevant to the courses offered in the program, as approved by the executive dean; or
  • (c) an approved degree in the same discipline with a GPA of at least 4.5 and have completed at least two years of full-time (or equivalent) professional work experience relevant to the courses offered in the program, as approved by the executive dean; or
  • (d) an approved degree in the different discipline with a GPA of at least 4.5 and have completed at least five years of full-time (or equivalent) professional work experience relevant to the courses offered in the program, as approved by the executive dean; or
  • (e) an equivalent academic or professional qualification in law and be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the executive dean that they have the requisite knowledge to complete the program.
