OzTREKK Orientation at Bond 2 June 2014 Why do we love our OzTREKK students so much? Because even after they have begun their studies at their Australian university, they are still willing to help new OzTREKK students get settled. Bond University campus tour Talk about teamwork! Our second-semester Bondies recently enjoyed a tour hosted by former OzTREKK students and now current Bond Law School students, Adam Stewardson and Jamie Kopman, who are studying in their final semester of the Bond JD program. Along for the ride and to offer further support to the new Bond University students were Kellen Hornquist and Kiran Kaur Malhi—who also applied to Bond Law School via OzTREKK. Since the campus tour took place on a Sunday, most of the buildings were closed; however, since Bond University is so down to earth, they happily opened the buildings so OzTREKK Director Beth McNally and the rest of the tour group could visit and get to know the campus and its facilities. The new Bond students—who will be studying in the Juris Doctor, Doctor of Physiotherapy, and MBA programs—and some family members, enjoyed an informative campus tour and then finished off the morning with a fish-and-chips luncheon and afternoon sprawl at Burleigh Beach, where the students were able to try deep-fried pineapple for the first time! On Monday, May 5, the OzTREKK Shuttle was well used, as Beth drove to and fro from Varsity Towers, The Cape, The Chancellor, Varsity Shores, and the airport. Beth also showed the three new Bond University Physiotherapy School students the Bond Institute of Health and Sport, about 15 minutes away from the main Bond campus. Best wishes to all the new Bond University students, and a big “thank you” to our former OzTREKK students for helping out with the tour. Learn more about Bond University!
