In the heart of Sydney, in Wynyard precinct, Macquarie’s new Sydney City Campus will allow students to enjoy personalised attention and be supported throughout their university life. Students will also have access to the excellent facilities of the main campus at North Ryde, ensuring they get the best of both worlds.
With leading corporations on the university’s Sydney City Campus doorstep, students will be in the best position to develop professional networks while they study right in the centre of Australia’s most dynamic city.
Macquarie announced its intention to establish a new campus in the Sydney CBD next year, after deciding not to renew its current Macquarie University City Campus (MQCC) management contract with IBT (Sydney) Pty Limited, a subsidiary of Navitas Ltd, beyond early 2016.
Professor John Simons, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), said the university preferred to manage its city campus itself rather than outsource it to an external service provider.
“Having a CBD campus is very convenient for our local and international students who either live or work in Sydney’s business heart,” he said. “Operating our own city campus ensures that not only do our students continue to receive the high quality education that Macquarie has become renowned for over the past 50 years, but also that every aspect of their student experience is consistent with that of students on our main campus.”
