Are you planning to attend the University of Western Australia in beautiful Perth? You’ll have access to the new student hub!

The StudyPerth Student Hub (the Hub) is a contemporary, collaborative facility on St Georges Terrace in the city that helps international students prosper by providing professional, social and cultural opportunities and employment-based programs to enhance their student experience and career prospects. It will also provide services designed to improve students’ wellness and well-being, creating a holistic and positive student experience.

StudyPerth CEO Phil Payne said there had been a great deal of interest among the international education sector and the international student cohort since the Hub officially opened.

“The development and opening of the Hub has been many months in the planning, and we are proud to have created an engaging and collaborative space that both international students and our members are excited to use,” he said.

Mr Payne said StudyPerth had partnered with Spacecubed to open the Hub, with the central location, top-of-the-range facilities and strong employability and enterprise connections being attractive drawcards.

“Spacecubed offers an extensive physical and virtual community, and also allows StudyPerth to access its program of over 150 community events, services and connection channels, per year,” he said.

“Embedding the Hub within Spacecubed reduces barriers between employers, entrepreneurs and students and facilitates organic and planned engagement between these different groups, which is so important for those looking to enter the workforce or start a business and launch their careers.”

By focusing on employability and entrepreneurship, the StudyPerth Student Hub will attract new employers to engage with international students and provide employers with a pool of diverse global talent.

Mr Payne said StudyPerth planned to extend the range of services and supports available via the Hub over the coming months.

“After we have been operating for a few months and have gathered feedback from students about what they would like to see in the Hub, we plan to expand a program of specialist international student entrepreneurship, employability and social events complementing and augmenting the excellent support that is available from education institutions and Spacecubed,” he said.

The Hub is designed to complement StudyPerth ProsPER, a free online platform which provides employability services for international students—spanning the entire student lifecycle. ProsPER aims to equip students with the skills, experience, networks, confidence and knowledge needed to prosper in their study, lives and careers. Both ProsPER and the Hub will be adaptable and expandable to respond to student requirements.

“Already planned is a legal support service and a financial/budgeting management service, both of which will be provided online, within ProsPER and in the Hub.”

The StudyPerth Student Hub is located in the basement level of 191 St Georges Terrace, and is currently open for business Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with extended hours being introduced in the coming months.
