🗺️ Your 7-Step Pathway to OTR/L Certification in the US
Follow these steps to transition from applicant to board-certified occupational therapist:
1. Complete an appropriate undergraduate degree with the required prerequisite subjects*.
2. Get accepted into the Master of Occupational Therapy program!
3. Fly to the beautiful Gold Coast, Australia.
4. Finish the 6-semester Master of Occupational Therapy in just 2 years, including over 1,000 hours of Level I and Level II fieldwork.
5. Register to practice as a new graduate OT in Australia and/or consider extending your study to complete an ACOTE-accredited Professional Doctorate of OT (OTD), a 2-year higher degree by research program including a Doctoral Capstone Internship (scholarships may apply).
6. Sit the NBCOT exam. You are eligible to take the National Board Certification for Occupational Therapy examination. Testing centres are available in Australia and all US states.
7. Apply for your occupational therapy license in all US states where applicable!
Bond Master of Occupational Therapy Program Fast Facts
The Master of Occupational Therapy at Bond University combines lectures, tutorials, workshops, case studies, fieldwork and simulation to embed the skills and knowledge needed to succeed as an occupational therapist. You will learn from highly qualified occupational therapy academics with clinical and research experience.
You will have the opportunity to develop skills related to the specialist practice of occupational therapy through extensive professional practice placements in a variety of settings such as private practice, community and mental health services, aged care and hospitals.

*Entry requirements: The minimum academic entry requirement is an undergraduate degree in health sciences or other related degree with the following prerequisite subjects:
