Dean of Sydney Dental School Chris Peck

About the Sydney Faculty of Dentistry Dean Professor Chris Peck

Professor Chris Peck is Dean of the Sydney Faculty of Dentistry. He completed his dental training, a Masters in occlusion and a Graduate Diploma in Pain Management at Sydney and completed a PhD on structure-function relationships of the human masticatory system at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He is currently President of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Orofacial Pain.
His current research and teaching interests are in the assessment and management of oral and facial pain and he maintains clinical practice in orofacial pain management. He has published widely in the field and with Professor Greg Murray has developed a model to explain the interaction between pain and movement in humans.

About the Sydney Medical School Professor/Co-director Inam Haq

Professor Haq studied at United Medical and Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London from 1987–1993. After House Officer and Senior House Officer jobs, he entered rheumatology training in London from 1997–2005, working at the Royal Free Hospital (sceroderma), University College Hospitals London (connective tissue disease and biologic therapies) and Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (metabolic bone disease and sports and exercise medicine. During 2001–2004, Prof Haq undertook a higher degree by research, looking at primary care education in rheumatology in North London, supervised by Professor Jane Dacre.
