Orientation Week at Griffith University

2 March 2015

Live entertainment, student society activities and information sessions helped thousands of new students get into the swing of university life as Orientation Week kicked off across Griffith University campuses on Feb. 23.
“Orientation week is designed to help new students get to know the university and our services, and to establish a sense of belonging and academic adjustment,” said Michelle O’Brien, Manager of the Student Success team.

“Starting university for the first time can be both an exciting and daunting experience for local and international students. However, by attending orientation week, students can feel more informed and know what to expect,” she said.
“Orientation week provides an introduction to the departments, services and facilities, as well as an opportunity to get involved in activities, connect with peers and other students—all key to becoming a successful first-year student.
“It is really important for all students to attend Orientation week and become acquainted with what Griffith offers.
“Orientation Week is a great way for new students to settle into university.”
