Melbourne Law School has just recently welcomed the new cohort of Juris Doctor students who are commencing their journey into the study of law.

Associate Professor Alison Duxbury welcomed the students at Orientation, telling them that they were “entering a new community where you will make friends that will be with you for the rest of your personal and professional lives.”
The Melbourne University Law Students’ Society (MULSS) also offered advice to their new peers, with tips based on their own experiences as Melbourne Law School students.
“It is really important that you try and involve yourselves in as many opportunities as you can, and it’s the aim of the law school and the student societies to help you,” said MULSS Vice President Hannah Fitzpatrick. “In a strange way, it is the challenges and difficulties of law school that can also create the biggest benefits.
“You will develop close friendships here, and the diversity in the cohort experience allows you to meet truly amazing and motivational peers.”
The class began their studies last week with the subject Legal Method and Reasoning, which enabled the students to be officially introduced to the Melbourne Law School community, including key members of staff.
Among the new cohort are two OzTREKK students—best wishes, guys!
