About Dr. Pierce
Dr. Ian Pierce grew up in the Niagara region completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph and Brock University. He completed his medical education at Monash University. He worked as an intern at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne before returning to Canada to pursue postgraduate surgical training. He is currently a PGY-3 General Surgery resident, training through the Northern Ontario School of Medicine University (NOSM University) at Health Sciences North in Sudbury. His residency experience has provided broad exposure to general surgery, trauma and acute care surgery, endoscopy, and subspecialty surgical services. He is passionate about surgical education and mentorship. He enjoys sharing his experience of studying medicine in Australia and transitioning into residency in Canada.
