UQ physiotherapy graduate creating change in remote communities

Nick Kenny’s dream of playing professional rugby league with the Broncos was cut short after a neck injury ended his football career.

With a physiotherapy degree from UQ to fall back on, Nick moved to the Northern Territory where he now helps Indigenous Australians with Machado Joseph Disease negotiate their environment safely. By learning to see the world differently, Nick is creating change.

Master of Physiotherapy Studies at UQ Physiotherapy School

The UQ Physiotherapy School offers a graduate-entry two-year Master of Physiotherapy Studies designed for those students who have a bachelor’s degree and wish to gain qualifications to register as a physiotherapist.
The objectives of the physiotherapy program are

• to provide students with the theoretical knowledge, skills and clinical competencies required of an entry-level graduate in physiotherapy; and
• to develop abilities to extend knowledge in physiotherapy practice and organizational management, and to provide skills in research for physiotherapy.
