Melbourne Law School walks for justice
On May 13, 2014, a team from Melbourne Law School joined Justice Connect to support the annual Walk for Justice. More than 70 students and staff, including the Dean, Professor Carolyn Evans, met bright and early on the steps of Parliament to raise much-needed funds for the Homeless Law Program, run by Justice Connect.
The Walk for Justice is in its seventh year and is an initiative by Justice Connect, a pillar of the Victorian legal community. As a facilitator for the provision of pro bono legal services, an advocate for public interest matters and a provider of legal information to the community, Justice Connect plays a vital role in advancing access to justice in Victoria. Proceeds from the walk will help Justice Connect to continue in assisting some of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in the community.
