Meet Sarah from OzTREKK
Hi, everyone! Sarah Here!
Here is a little bit about me….
I have five siblings (there are three boys and three girls) and we range in age from 6 to 32.
When I was younger my older brothers would make me play road hockey with them and somehow I always ended up in nets.
I’ve never broken any bones, but I was once stung seven times when I accidentally came across a bees’ nest. That wasn’t fun.
When I was younger, my mom taught me how to water ski and I like to think it is one of my secret talents (although not such a secret now, I suppose).
I wear glasses or contact lenses every day—I have such poor eyesight.
I love weddings! The dancing, the ceremony… I love it all.
I think that a weekend at the lake and sitting by a campfire is when I feel most at home.
My first job ever was at the local Dairy Queen in my hometown (of Smiths Falls, Ontario). Making that “swirl” is a lot harder than it looks!
I can’t wait for winter to be over. I hate the constriction of boots, socks, and winter coats! I am always the first to throw on flip flops and dresses and always the last one to put them away when the cold weather returns.
Fave movies: Dirty Dancing, Sixteen Candles, Steel Magnolias, The Shawshank Redemption, The Town, A Time to Kill, Double Jeopardy
Fave TV shows: Rookie Blue, Girls, The Newsroom, New Girl, Scandal
I love working at OzTREKK! I worked alongside Shannon until she left for her maternity leave at the end of January. I am the Admissions Officer for Law, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Audiology and Chiropractic programs.
Nicole and I work closely every day on the law and rehab science files. Getting to work with such smart, funny and passionate people is so rewarding. In addition, we have the best students you could ask for! They are so driven and it is great to be part of helping them works towards such wonderful goals.
If I were an OzTREKK student I would probably attend the Master of Nursing Studies program at the University of Queensland, or the Master of Development Studies program at the University of Sydney.
OzTREKK Team Members think Sarah is thoughtful, stylin’, hilarious, honest, confident, and intelligent.
