Alumna Peta Fielding, a member of Bond University’s first-ever cohort of students in September 1989, has been appointed chair of the new Alumni Advisory Board, following an overwhelming response from the alumni community for nominations and voting.
“I am extremely proud to be heading up the inaugural Alumni Advisory Board and acting as a voice for Bond’s remarkable international alumni community,” she said.
The Alumni Advisory Board will provide the university with valuable alumni insight and perspective and high-level strategic advice and support, in relation to the role of alumni and the broader Bond community.
It will also nurture and support alumni chapters, groups and clubs, develop and implement outreach activities aimed at Bond students and support and encourage a culture of giving to the university.
“To be able to play such an active role in strengthening the relationship between the university, its alumni and other members of the academic, professional and wider community, is a great honour,” Ms Fielding said.
“The formation of an Alumni Advisory Board dedicated to fostering and growing life-long partnerships with the university’s international network is an ideal initiative to be launching in 2014—the year of Bond’s 25th Anniversary Celebrations.
“My fellow Alumni Advisory Board members and I have enjoyed a strong and extremely positive relationship with the university for many years, and are very much looking forward to becoming part of the next chapter of the Bond story.”
