Meet the Speakers
Dr. Meg Keage
Dr. Meg Keage is a Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator of the Master of Speech Pathology program, and collaborative practice clinical projects lead for the Melbourne School of Health and Sciences. Her research focus is neurogenic swallowing disorders, integrative lived experience teaching and co-design in clinical practice degrees, practice education, and interprofessional learning. Dr. Keage is also the convener of the Victorian Dysphagia Interest Group, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and practice in the field of swallowing disorders.
Associate Lecturer Joyce Chiu
Joyce Chiu is an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology at The University of Melbourne. Joyce currently teaches first- and second-year subjects within the Master of Speech Pathology program. Joyce is an Acute Speech Pathologist by background and has predominantly worked with adults with communication and swallowing changes following strokes, progressive neurological conditions, or traumatic/acquired brain injuries. Joyce also has over 7 years’ experience working as a practice educator supporting students on clinical placements across a range of clinical settings and caseloads.
Associate Professor Kelley Graydon
Associate Professor Kelley Graydon holds a PhD from The University of Melbourne and is the Director of Learning and Teaching for the School of Health Sciences, Audiology Course Coordinator and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology. Her areas of interest and research include teleaudiology, scholarship of teaching and learning, global audiology and school hearing assessments and screening. Associate Professor Graydon teaches into the Masters of Audiology with a specific focus on paediatric diagnostic assessments. She also holds a teaching specialist role, with an interest in developing new clinical teaching opportunities, with a focus on international telehealth programs and online e-learning modules.
Dr. Alexandra Walchhuetter
Dr Alexandra Walchhuetter holds a PhD from The University of Melbourne and is a Lecturer in the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology. She also holds a Senior Audiologist and Clinical Educator role at Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic. Her areas of interest and research include paediatric cochlear implantation and infant diagnostic audiology assessment.
