About Dr. Churchill
Originally from Winnipeg, Dr. Ryan Churchill moved to Australia in 2020 to study medicine at Griffith University (thanks entirely to OzTREKK, he says!). He’s now a PGY2 resident in emergency medicine at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH), Australia’s busiest emergency department.  He completed his clinical years of medical school and internship at GCUH, and plan to apply to the emergency medicine (ACEM) training program in 2026.

Outside the hospital, Ryan is passionate about hiking/climbing/mountaineering and photography. He currently lives on the Gold Coast with his partner and their two Bengal cats. They recently bought their first home, and he’s applied for permanent residency.
