If so, then we’ve got great news to share! The University of Sydney has announced two international scholarships available for future Sydney JD students:

  1. C.A Coghlan and A.N Littlejohn Scholarship for the Juris Doctor
  2. The Wigram Allen Scholarship for the Juris Doctor

C.A Coghlan and A.N Littlejohn Scholarship

The C.A Coghlan and A.N Littlejohn Scholarship for the Juris Doctor has been made available by the generosity of two benefactors of the Faculty of Law. The scholarship is made possible by combining two separate bequests, all of which set the same terms and conditions.

The Wigram Allen Scholarship for the Juris Doctor

The Wigram Allen Scholarships were originally founded on gifts of 381 pounds in 1867 and 500 pounds in 1883 from Sir George Wigram Allen. Given to encourage the study of law, these funds are now used to provide commencing scholarships for the Juris Doctor. The Wigram Allen Scholarship for the Juris Doctor is open to all domestic and international applicants commencing the Juris Doctor (JD) at the Sydney Law School.
Additional Conditions
Scholarship holders may be required to promote the Sydney Law School and represent the Sydney Law School at student orientation, recruitment events and corporate networking events.

What is the value of the Sydney JD Scholarships?

The C.A Coghlan and A.N Littlejohn Scholarship for the Juris Doctor and the Wigram Allen Scholarship for the Juris Doctor are worth $6,000 per year, tenable for 3 years, which is the normal full-time duration of the degree.
The scholarships will be paid annually, in two equal installments of $3,000. Payment will be made after the March 31 census date and the August 31 census date subject to continued enrolment and satisfactory performance as detailed in the eligibility criteria.

Application deadline for both scholarships is Thursday, November 29, 2016. When you apply to one scholarship, you will automatically be assessed for the other!
