University of Sydney Graduate Science Programs

The Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney provides its students with the world class teaching and the state-of-the-art facilities needed to succeed in numerous scientific disciplines. As a research-intesive institution, Sydney Faculty of Science puts a strong emphasis on imbuing its students with the critical scientific skills needed to analyse and expound upon the tough challenges of modern scientifc inquiry. At the Faculty of Science postgraduate students can undertake comprehensive research projects under the tutelage of a number of experts at the University of Sydney with the knowledge that they are pursuing a degree that can lead them to an innovative and rewarding career in their chosen discipline.

Studying Science at the the University of Sydney is broken up into several schools under the umbrella of the Faculty of Science: School of Biological Sciences; School of Chemistry; School of Geosciences; Unit for History & Philosophy of Science; School of Mathematics & Statistics; School of Molecular Bioscience; School of Physics; School of Psychology. Also housed in the Faculty of Science are several research centres producing world class scientific research, such as Institute for Innovation in Science & Mathematics Education (IISME); Australian National Genomic Information Service (ANGIS); Mathematics Learning Centre; Centre for Mathematical Biology; Sydney VisLab; Key Centre for Polymers & Colloids; University of Sydney Institute of Marine Science (USIMS); Australian Centre for Microscopy & Microanalysis; Research Centre on Ecological Impacts of Coastal Cities; Institute of Medical Physics; School of Medical Science; Biomedical Node of the Australian Proteome Analysis Facility at Sydney.
