Below you will find a list of our From Eh to Oz predeparture events and information sessions. These events are open to students who have an offer or have already accepted their offer.

From Eh to Oz – Predeparture Meet-ups

Every year, we host in-person predeparture get-togethers across Canada, so you can get to know your fellow OzTREKKers before you leave. These are casual events meant for mingling. We’d love to see you there!

Toronto Predeparture Meet-up
Date: November 7, 2026

Vancouver Predeparture Meet-up
Date: November 14, 2026
Time: 1 – 4 p.m.

All students with offers or who have accepted an offer will receive an email invitation to this event, starting in August. If you did not receive an invitation, please reach out.

Information Sessions

From Eh to Oz: Predeparture 101
OzTREKK Director Jaime will answer all your predeparture questions… even the ones you didn’t know you needed to ask! Here’s what we’ll cover:

Before You Leave – Banking, transferring money, health coverage, what to pack, flights, etc.
Once Your Arrive – Student cards, mobile phones, tax file numbers, driver’s license, etc.
What To Expect – Shopping, gyms, public transportation, must-see places, and student advice.

From Eh to Oz: Accommodation 101
OzTREKK Director Jaime will walk you though the ins and outs of securing accommodation in Australia! Jaime will explain the types of accommodation available to you, how to go about securing accommodation, and tips and tricks to make it a smooth process.

University of Otago Predeparture Webinar for Dentistry Students
Held exclusively for OzTREKK Otago dentistry students! The University of Otago aims to answer all your predeparture questions—even the ones you didn’t know you needed to ask! We want to make sure you’re feeling comfy about your visa application, accommodation, flights, and arrival.
