Australian Chiropractic Schools

  • Overview - Chiropractic Schools in Australia
  • Macquarie University Chiropractic School

Chiropractors consider the biopsychosocial aspects of musculoskeletal pain and work collaboratively with other healthcare providers in the promotion of health and optimum musculoskeletal function. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation

Like Canada, few post-secondary institutions in Australia offer chiropractic programs. Macquarie University is the only OzTREKK university that offers a program in this area.

The Macquarie Bachelor of Chiropractic Science—the longest-running in Australia—will prepare students for a rewarding career in one of the largest primary health professions. When combined with the Master of Chiropractic, graduates will be equipped to work in private practice, chiropractic sports-medicine, allied health areas, health insurance assessment, medico-legal advising, work health and safety, rehabilitation and research.

The Master of Chiropractic degree offered at the Macquarie Chiropractic School is comparable to Doctor of Chiropractic programs at chiropractic schools in Canada and in the United States.

Located in Sydney, New South Wales, Macquarie University offers a professional chiropractic program that attracts a number of Canadian students who have completed an undergraduate degree in a related field.

The added bonus for Canadian students is the transferability of the Australian Master in Chiropractic degree for those who wish to return home to practice in Canada. Additionally, Macquarie University has competitive international student tuition fees in comparison to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College's program fees.
